Deposit of £150 required for some evening bookings, returnable if no additional clean up work is required. Note, that depending on the timing of the event , weekends/ bank holidays, it may take a week after the event for the refund to reach your account.
Parking We rent out parking spaces to local office workers and local residents, who find parking in nearby streets difficult to find. The car park is therefore busy all the time, including evenings and weekends. Hall users can only assume there will be 4-5 available car parking places for their use. They need to manage their guests parking to ensure they do NOT block in our paying parkers. There is pay parking in South Street, it is quiet at the weekend particularly beyond Sidmouth Street.
The hall is on one level throughout. We have not as yet been able to make access wheelchair friendly, the doors of the late 1880s building are narrow, there are ramps to ease access.
There is no audio visual equipment. Unfortunately we do not at the moment have a light projector for use, so please bring your own. The acoustics in the hall are good, most speakers can be heard clearly without microphones. There is a large blank wall to project onto. There is a flip chart and whiteboard in the area where the tables and chairs are kept. There is a hot water boiler constantly working so its easy to make Tea & Coffee. There are a large number of mugs in one of the cupboards, if they are used please wash and dry them and return to the cupboard.
Seating Capacity 70+ Theatre Style
The garden Hall is licenced for entertainment (Performing Rights Society) but does not hold an alcohol licence.
The small meeting room
This is alongside the Garden Hall room. Ideal as a quiet place to work or for a small meeting of up to 10, 12 at a squeeze. The two tables can be collapsed if a different seating arrangement is required.
It has a small kitchenette area, there is a kettle and a number of mugs for use. It has its own toilet and Internet access. If the mugs are used then please wash them and return to the cupboard.
A well insulated room with skylights bringing daylight from above. Glazed doors with privacy blinds.
This room is currently on a monthly hire by a group as their office and is not available for ad hoc hire
